In the quest to cut spending and save money, it's important to look out for social spending. There are so many fun things to do alone, with friends, and with family that don't cost money. So make the suggestions, and make the plans - you'll find that your leisure and social life is much more fun if you're not worried about money.

1. Go to the movies early when prices are lower.

2. Go to the public library - for books and for events.

3. Cancel your pool membership and go to the public pool.

4. Go to the public parks and the hiking trails.

5. Check your city, county, state, and federal parks for free attractions and events.

6. Have a yard sale for fun.

9. Cancel your gym membership or any other clubs you're not using.

10. Volunteer - you'll meet people, get exercise, and feel more fulfilled.
